Hacey Initiative is calling female applicants in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) areas of study to apply for the Code4Impact program funded by the US Mission in Nigeria.
Code 4 Impact is an experiential learning program that builds digital literacy, especially coding and analytical skills in 50 female students aged 18-24 in STEM fields in tertiary institutions in Lagos state to create community impact solutions around the new Global Goals.
This program aims to increase the number of young women who are actively involved in STEM fields and the number of secondary school girls who choose STEM fields as a future career.
The beneficiaries of this program will be grouped in clusters of 10 with 5 girls in each group. These groups will form the functional identities through the course of the training for collaboration on assignments and end of training projects. Each group will be assigned tutors and mentor developers who will help guide the beneficiaries on their projects.
Eligibility
  • Applicants must be female Female
  • Between ages 18-24
  • Be in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics-related field
  • Currently in a Tertiary institution in Lagos State
  • Willing to dedicate 6 hours every Saturday
  • Have access to a laptop
  • Have regular access to internet
Rewards
All 50 Participants in the training program will develop their technology skills and develop community driven solutions to the newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.
